COURSE OUTLINE: FP103 - Cruise Ship Photography

The full Cruise Ship Photography Course outlines exactly what is required to qualify for the coveted position of official photographer on luxury cruise liners run by major shipping companies. You'll learn what Personal, Technical, and Business outcomes are required to break into this glamorous career. This will open doors for you and allow you to earn US Dollars, with free food and accommodation.

So, if photography, travel, and meeting and working with new people on a daily basis are your interests - this will be just the course you need to do.

The Camera - Nikon D90, D300 and D700 (If you need to buy a camera, it's recommended that you buy a Nikon D300. This is the prefered camera approved by most shipping lines, and will enhance your chances when submitting your application to a shipping line recruitment agent.)

Practical Exam:

A photograph must obtain a mark of 90% or higher to be accepted in your portfolio. If a photograph obtains less than 90%, you may resubmit your portfolio with the replaced photograph(s) up to three times. (I will coach you in areas where you need to improve your skills to have your portfolio accepted.)

Part 2 (in Stellenbosch - Cape Town)

COURSE DATES AND TIMES

The course dates are still to be announced. When the dates are published, they will be available in the Course Date Schedule.

PREREQUISITES

Register for this course by filling in the course registration form HERE.
During the training, you may use any digital SLR camera you wish.
In most cases the college will have a camera available in the class room for those students that do not yet own or have access to a camera.
Should you wish to buy a camera, contact us and we will gladly assist you with the purchase and also save you lots of money. Nikon D90, D300 and D700 cameras are recommended.
Students must be between 21 and 30 years of age to be allowed to work as cruise ship photographers. However, nothing prevents you to qualify yourself before reaching 21 years of age.

COSTS

Costs to be discussed with application process.

EXTRA COSTS

Extra costs are for the student's own account. These costs include, but are not limited to:

- Developing and Printing,

- Exam fees,

- Excursion fees,

- Model fees,

- Equipment insurance, etc.

Whenever possible, your instructor will inform you of any extra costs beforehand.
